Our turf laying process is as follows.

· Remove the old lawn if you have one.

· Tree stump removal if needed.

· Rotavate the soil, this will reduce soil compaction, bring debris to the surface and improve drainage in the lawn.

· Inspect the soil for any grubs that eat the roots of grass and  advise treatment.

· Rake the soil to remove stones, roots and other waste materials.

· Rake the soil to a basic level and compact.

· Import screened topsoil if needed.

· Rake the soil to the finished level.

· Apply a slow- release pre turf laying fertiliser for new root growth.

· Lay the turf working off boards to insure full soil to turf contact.

· Remove all waste and clean all working areas.

· After care instruction leaflet supplied.

Aeration 

Lawn Aeration is a mechanical process that makes small holes in the lawn.

Scarifying  

This process removes harmful excess thatch from your lawn. Thatch is a build up of surface and sub-surface dead grass, grass clippings & moss that can accumulate over many years. 

Too much thatch will cause deterioration in the quality of your lawn because it chokes the lawn and prevents nutrient, air and water from being efficient in the sward and rootzone, as a result the grass becomes thin, patchy and is prone to dying off quickly in times of drought. Removing this layer encourages fresh, more resilient grass growth.

Over-seeding 

This is an essential part to regenerate your lawn especially if Aeration or Scarification has taken place. Over seeding will not be successful unless full soil contact is achieved. Simply throwing seed on top of an existing lawn, bare patch or bare thatch will not work. This is why we use an over seeding machine it will drill the seed into the soil for the seed to germinate successfully. Along side this we will apply a pre seeding fertilizer for faster root growth.
